Daryen Morgado

I am known by many names; some may call me Daryen Jade, Jade, Dar-dar, or Dee-dee. However, for simplicity’s sake, just Daryen will suffice. I’ve lived in many places around the country, like Colorado and New York, but Georgia is my true home. I was born in Savannah, Georgia, but the only thing I can actually recall from there are the glistening beaches. The town that I can call home is Marietta, Georgia. One thing that attracted me to both Decatur and Agnes Scott was that it reminded me so much of home. Regarding my academic interests, I feel like I consider myself more of a left-brained person. I have an affinity for learning, especially about science; I intend to be a Neuroscience major. One of the main reasons that I want to major in that field is because I have a defect called Dandy-Walker Malformation, which created a cyst on my cerebellum and affects my motor skills,  and I want to help others with brain anomalies like me. When I’m not doing schoolwork, I love to play video games. I’ve loved them for as long as I can remember, and I’ve met so many people who share my love for them as well. Playing as a character and seeing them accomplish goals as you figure out how to play is just so satisfying to me. On the other hand, when a game doesn’t have a complex plot or characters, it is fun to unwind, relax, and just play a game occasionally.
